Chester-le-Street Town Blues Under 10s got off to a winning start with a 4-1 win. A great performance by all involved today. The Blues started strong with Cole Robson creating problems from the start. Some solid defending from Leon Smith and Johnathan Buckton with Henry Daglish in Goal for the first half playing as a sweeper keeper. The deadlock was broken just before half time with a thunderbolt of a free kick from Cole Robson who’d put the ball in the net only seconds earlier but only for the referee to blow and pull it back. Great team performance first half and a big mention to Katy Garaway who was outstanding. George Bell went in goal second half and didn’t disappoint staying alert throughout. We started strong and with Henry Daglish now at left back and linking up well with the midfield it was only a matter of time. Charlie Adamson played a short corner to Henry who dribbled past one cut in side and smashed it into the bottom corner 2-0. Max Sewell and Ev Smith were starting to pull the strings. Henry played a lovely ball into Cole who turned his player only to be fouled about 30 yards out. Up stepped Cole 3-0. Moments later it could of been four, Max’s thunderbolt was saved and a goal mouth scramble ensued with Ev Charlie and Henry all having shots saved. Moments later Ev Smith got what he deserved with the ball dropping on the edge of the Box after Charlie Adamson’s great Work Ev turned and smashed it on the half volley 4-0. The team were now coasting and pushing for more unfortunately the opposition broke and scored a late consolation after a great save from George Bell.
Final score 4-1 with the man of the match going to Henry Daglish.
