Chester le Street Town Under 10 Whites took on fellow U10’s team the Blues today at Monkton.
A pretty cold & damp autumn morning, coupled with a pitch that boasted more mud than grass, meant it wasn’t an easy game for the players.
Despite that both teams did themselves, their parents, their managers and the club proud with every single player putting in a fully committed, 110 percent effort, performance.
Both sides saw plenty of the ball although it must be said neither team carved out many clear-cut chances, testament to the excellent defensive displays of both teams.
The game was ultimately decided by a single goal, Logan Newton scoring from about 10 yards with a shot that squirmed underneath the diving effort of Henry Daglish.
All things considered a draw would have been a fair result, but it wasn’t to be for the Blues, meaning the Whites triumphed 1 – 0 for the second week in a row.
