Blues Come Up Short

Under 7 Blues came out of the traps on fire, with a new attacking format having an immediate effect and by half time were 2-1 up.
Great defending from the immoveable James Sharp helped the Blues keep a tight ship at the back. Some great distribution by Freddie Barron in goal created opportunities; especially with Lincoln Borthwick on the right wing, making some great skillful runs demonstrating good ball control and passing through to the midfield and attack.
Kai Duffy and Adam Abdullah pushed on in attack creating chances with fluent pass and move combinations and showing some good tackling ability.
Both goals from the Blues came with pressure in and around the box, firstly from James Sharp with a determined tackle and finish. Secondly by Jack Kelly who smashed in a loose ball on the edge of the box after a competitive battle for possession. 2-1
The second half saw the Blues back to level 2-2 after large amounts of pressure imposed by the opposition. More attacking chances proved fruitful for the opposition and the Blues found themselves 5-2 down but refused to give up. Good work rate from Ben Sharp combined with some great passing from Lincoln Borthwick caused a chance to run through on goal and blast a shot into the back of the net.
Lifted by this, the Blues had belief. Freddie Barron’s worldly save onto the bar showed determination against the odds but further defensive errors allowed another opposition goal.
6-3 Final score
