The U10 Whites only had 7 boys available for this weekends match, but by did they put on a performance.
Chester town opened the scoring with a brilliant goal from Will (some of the parents didn’t even know that the game had started!!) Amazing work by all of the boys saw a huge amount of passing and R passionate tackling. Chester Town had chances, hitting the post and having a number of chances stopped by eirther great saves by the opposition of the call just going slightly wide. The boys were getting stuck into the game and working together to move the ball up the pitch, so was inevitable when Olly found the back of the net to give a 2 goal cushion. The opposition broke through and managed to get the ball into our half of the pitch and won a corner that led to them getting one goal back. A shot on goal, from Chester town looked as though had crossed the goal line, but was not seen by the referee, so a goal was not given. The half time whistle signalled a chance for our boys to have a break, as they had thrown themselves into the game for the whole of the first half.
The second half saw chances for Chester Town, but another corner for the opposition led to another goal that equalised the score line. The lack of substitutions was starting to show, but the boys continued to fight for every ball. After a few misses, the back of the net was eventually found for the third time- this time Nick from long range giving Chester Town the lead once again. There were 7 minutes left and we just needed to hold on, but the opposition broke though our brilliant defence to level the score once again. The boys still didn’t give up and kept going looking for a win. Unfortunately, Chester towns last chance of the game saw the ball shot wide – an unlucky miss just before the final whistle. The game ended in draw but that was no reflection on the display. Everyone of the boys gave 100% and played together with great passing and fearless tackling. A very unlucky game, with decisions just not going Chester Towns way.
Brilliant defending from James O, Nick and Joel ( who played the whole game in goal). The defence were amazing and made some great decisions. Ben was also great in his position in midfield defence. Amazing attacking team work from Thomas, Will and Olly.
A massive well done to all of the boys, who should be proud of themselves as they put on a great performance.
