Chester le Street Town FC are very happy to announce that Davey Surrey has been appointed as the club’s head of Youth Development as part of a partnership agreement between Chester le Street Town FC and FC Football Development.
Davey currently holds a UEFA B coaching badge and is also coaching at youth level for Sunderland Acadamy. Not only that Davey has long standing ties to the club and is currently playing for the mens first team!
Speaking about the annoucement Dave Winter, chairman of the Youth setup said “We’re delighted to have Davey on board, he’s a highly talented and highly respected young coach who is passionate about providing kids with best football coaching possible, which is perfectly aligned to the values of our football club.”
Davey’s role at the club will involve actively coaching our very youngest football players as they begin their football journey, meaning the club can offer the children of Chester le Street and surrounding areas the very best introduction to football possible.
In addition Davey will provide support to the amazing coaches already in place who are actively coaching our 250+ players week in week out, offering practical advice on things such as training routines and player development while working to create a clear and consistent development framework for all the children pull on the blue and white hoops of Chester le Street Town.
Davey said of the partnership “Im really looking forward to getting more involved with the club, obviously I know the club inside out as a player so becoming head of youth development is a great next step! It’s a club on the up, with great plans for Moor Park and i’m really happy to be part of it.“
