Coming off the back of 4 straight wins with 22 goals scored and 12 points Chester le street Towns U7 Blues were riding on the crest of a wave, but today we were gonna be in for a gargantuan test!

Rain belted down, it was bleak and barely above freezing, but Chester had a self belief as the game kicked off.

Chester  looked-to establish dominance early on with Lincoln Borthwick leading from the start as we were tested in every area of the pitch

Kai Duffy made some great incisive runs, Adam Abdullah was strong in the tackle, nothing getting through that lad!

James Sharp combed the grass like a hovercraft, moving swiftly to stamp out the slightest threat to us, whilst Freddie Barron held his own saving several attempts and clearing dangerous through balls at a moments notice, 2 corners were snuffed out well with some great hands from Freddie!

Half time arrived and 0-0, as tight a game that could ever be

Second half and it became apparent that whoever  scored first was gonna win.
Chester’s passing immediately improved and created a great chance for Jack Kelly who controlled and poised himself before smashing a 15 yard beauty off the inside of the post, So unlucky, next time Jack it’s gotta go in….

Harry Holmes was like a Bee buzzing all over the pitch, great tackling and chasing moves closed off any attacking chances for the opposition, what an engine that lad has.

Adam Abdullah solid in the midfield broke up an attack and released Kai Duffy into attack mode.

The ball glued to his toe as he slalomed through the opposition, ‘butter and hot knife’ comes to mind..

past one, past two, OMG this boy is unstoppable… the ball rolled quickly and out of reach towards goal, had the chance gone? An outstretched foot poked a low shot into the corner of the goal 1-0

Jack Kelly stud firm  in midfield and Captain Lincoln Borthwick took possession of the ball and with his trademark run jinked his way through the left wing to set up Ben Sharp with a simple slide rule pass, Ben sensed his time had come, patient feet guided the ball majestically around the defender into an oasis of space which opened up thump and 2-0!

We felt the pressure of attack immediately upon us and with a final corner defended well, a worldy shot from a rebound at a tight angle into the roof of the net 2-1 and the final whistle!

Well done, a Marvellous effort lads. Still unbeaten.
