Chester le Street Town U-13’s saved their best performance of the season to run out comfortable 6-2 winners against local rivals Waldridge Glanton this morning.
The lads played with confidence and determination throughout the game. Each player doing their jobs well. The defence looked solid throughout, midfielders worked hard, up and down the pitch, and the front three of B Hamilton, D Bruce and A Gardner caused the Waldridge defence all sorts of problems with their attacking skilful, play.
Chester deservedly going into the half time break 2-0 up, with goals from Billy Hamilton
The lads picked up from where they left off from the first half, and continued to pass the ball around with confidence and accuracy. They were able to add another four goals. D Bruce (2), another one from B Hamilton, (his hattrick) and K Cowey from the penalty spot all getting on the scoresheet.
Waldridge, to their credit didn’t give up, and kept pressing forward, looking for opportunities. They were able to add a couple of second half goals for themselves, to give a final score of. Chester le Street Town 6-2 Waldridge Glanton.
A great performance, well played lads. Special mentions to the ever impressible Dylan Bruce who played the game with an injury and nearly missed the game, and Bailey Capes who was given man of the match for a confident, solid performance at right back.
