Chester U7 Blues bounced back from an early September Defeat with a great 3-1 win Today.
An attacking start to the game saw many chances for the blues to get the opener, good forward runs and passing from Lincoln Borthwick and Adam Abdullah created problems for the opposition.
A strong defensive combo of Harry Holmes and James Sharp kept the opposition down to few opportunities, but unfortunately against the run of play the Blues found themselves 1-0 down.
After the half time team talk the blues scored immediately, good distribution from Freddie Barron created a chance from a very dogged and determined run from Lincoln Borthwick, taking it round 3 players and ending up with the ball firmly buried in the opponents net!
1-1…and the belief was back
Jack kelly commanded defence and tackled with the heart of a lion, Freddie bravely cleared his lines several times to stop any goal chances and kept a very important clean sheet in the second half.
Some very good passing and movement from Kai Duffy immediately created another chance and Lincoln “the Destroyer” Borthwick pounced on his second chance to smash it in leaving no doubt, unstoppable, from 10yards+ confirming his second goal of the match.
2-1 and the Blues could sense the win
Harry Holmes made numerous covering defensive tackles and also created chances down the wings working seamlessly with James Sharp snuffing out any chance of dangerous attacks in the second half.
The Blues kept the ball in the oppositions half with all players tracking back when required and it was from this hard teamwork that a corner was won and calmly belted into the box by Kai Duffy which fell for Ben Sharp who notched from close range after a determined battle with defenders but there was only ever going to be one winner.
3-1 and a well deserved win resulting from good teamwork.
