Chester-le-Street Town U12’s produced a fantastic effort this morning on Wearside and were rewarded with a well deserved 4-0 win.
Right from the first whistle the lads seemed confident with good passing and attacking play from the midfielders, particular from Andrew Watkins, who later went off injured with what looked like a bad ankle injury.

The lads broke the deadlock with a cross-cum-shot from Adam Gardner on the right, the ball sailing over the keeper and into the far corner. (0-1). Billy Hamilton then doubled the lead for the lads, with a close range tap in just before half time. (0-2)

Into the second half the lads kept up the momentum and work rate, to deservedly increase their lead to 3-0, Finley Gamble getting on the score sheet. The home side did have a go in the second half, but with Jacob Mills in great form in goal and Fenton Law clearing up everything in defence. The Chester lads never looked too troubled.

Billy Hamilton put the “icing on the cake”, with his second goal of the day to complete a comfortable 4-0 win and a rare clean sheet. Well done lads.

Man of the match: Jacob Mills in goal, another excellent display
