Saturday 5th Chester le Street Town U9 Blues vs top of the league team, a tough game was expected… However, their plan to stay unbeaten ended today after all the Chester players must have had something special added to their food, as they all played superb.  The match got off to a quick start as on the 2 minute Joshua Craig played a lovely 25 yard through ball to Louise Slevin-Bradley rounded the keeper 1 – 0.  Shortly, after Noah Jackson fired just wide the keeper looks like he will be having a busy day today.  Evan Dawson picked the ball up in defence burst up the pitch a quick one two with Noah Jackson 2 – 0 with Evan Dawson on the score sheet.  Next it was Taylor Welch’s turn to demonstrate how to be an outstanding goal keeper, making numerous clearance from been quick off his line, and saving long range shots close range shots and stopping corners as the opposition had some possession.  Cohen Mickel came close to scoring after a beautiful piece of interplay between 3 plays to create the opportunity.  If Joseph Chapman-Ward doesn’t score there would be something wrong with the world and on that note Evan Dawson put a tremendous strong tackle in to create the chance and without fail 3 – 0.  To finish the scoring in the first have Evan Dawson claimed the ball from the keepers kick surged through the middle and smashed it into the back of the net… a half to remember.  The second half obviously was a quieter affair but Toby Collinsion made it that way with a commanding performance in defence nobody got past, round, over him today.  The whole team played as a one with on questioning of their positions, they passed, tackle, defended as a unit.  Two Man of the Match awards were given today, Taylor Welch for his shot stopping and Evan Dawson for a powerful display.
