Despite the 5-2 home defeat to Hetton Lyons this morning, the lads continue to improve, with all the players putting in a good shift with plenty effort and determination throughout the game.

For the first time this season Chester were able to field 11 players, with Charly Gamble temporarily stepping in. Big thanks to him.

The lads took the game to Hetton in the first half with much more positive attacking tactics, but like a few times this season, we were caught out with long range efforts that weren’t closed down quick enough. However the 0-4 half time scoreline did seem a little harsh on the lads.

Like the previous two games the lads grew stronger in the second half, and began to cause more problems for the opposition. Billy Hamilton finding the goal twice, the first a tap in into an empty net, the second, a fantastic left foot half volley from distance. The lads also rattling the Hetton crossbar on a couple of occasions.

Dylan Bruce received the man of the match for Chester, which was fully deserved. His running, skill ability under pressure, and attitude were spot on today.

Chester only conceding the one goal in the second half, so there are positives to work on, as the search for new players continues.

SQUAD: Jacob, Fenton(c), Shaun, Luke, George, Kai, Bailey, Charly, DYLAN (MOM), Adam, Billy (2).
