Chester le Street Town U9 lions played there second competitive under 9 game today and started brilliantly Jake O’ Shaughnessy cross bundled home via Og to put the lions ahead. George Mcdonald then quickly doubled lead with a neat finish going perfectly in the bottom corner. Lions continued to roar foward with Leon Rose pulling the strings creating chance after chance.
Jake then added a third with a tidy finish into the bottom corner. A fourth was quickly added and how via Gabriel Ecclestone a sublime lob from way outside the box going perfctly into the top corner. Lions then added a fifth just before Ht with a cool turn and finish from man in form James Oliver.
Lions were pulled back at the start with a shot going low and underneth the keeper. Opposition tails were up and some brillaint saves from George and strong blocks and tackles from an inspired Fionn Donnely kept it 5-1. Then from a stunning counter attack which saw new summer signing Liam Donaldson play brillaint through ball to release Mckenzie Wilkinson who neatly placed in the corner. Then some good high pressing saw Mckenzie steal the ball and poke home a 7th for the Lions. Opposition clawed a late second but the lions grabbed a deserved win and a very impressive performance
