LIONS END SEASON ON A HIGH

For the last game of the season our U8 Lions travelled to Farringdon for an early 8:45 kick off. Unfortunately Coach Nathan was struck down with a mysterious virus so it was up to John Oliver to look after the team today.

Chester opened strongly and it wasn’t long befor Oliver Loan opened the scoring with a great finish. More goals followed and Jake O’Shaughnessy bagged 4 which earned him the man of the match award. James Oliver got two and McKenzie Wilkinson, George McDonald and Leon Rose all scored one each. Although not on the score sheet this week both Gabriel Eccleston and Fionn Donnelly had solid games and made a great contribution to the win. A word also about our opposition today who never let their heads go down and it was appropriate that they were rewarded with a goal courtesy of a great finish.

This rounded off a tremendous first season for the Lions who lost only two games throughout. A great first season also to Nathan Rutherford who has done an excellent job with the boys and a big thanks to all the parents for their continued support all season.
