LIONS GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS

Our Under 8 Lions had a great win today. Making his debut for the Lions was their big summer signing Oliver Loan who settled in well. James Oliver opened the scoring for the Lions when he broke down the left and finished with a left foot shot. The second came courtesy of a George McDonald strike closely followed by another goal when McKenzie Wilkinson gave the keeper no chance.
In the second half Gabriel Eccleston, following a great move, beat the keeper closely followed by another James Oliver goal. McKenzie Wilkinson got his second when his corner went straight into the net after taking a deflection. Leon Rose almost got onto the score sheet when his good shot went narrowly wide.
Jake O’Shaughnessy got his first of the morning with a great shot from almost the right touch line. If that wasn’t enough he got a second from the self same spot this time the shot going in off the far post.
Right at the end Oliver Loan made a great run down the right before cutting in and passing to Jake O ‘Shaughnessy who tapped it in to complete his hat trick. The opposition, who to their credit never gave up, were awarded a penalty and keeper George McDonald was given no chance from the spot.
A great mornings football for the Lions with Jake O’Shaughnessy just pipping James Oliver for the man of the match award.
