LIONS BACK ON TRACK

Our Under 8 Lions got back to winning ways in their penultimate game of the season this morning. The opposition however got the first shot on target which was well saved by George McDonald. The Lions slowly got on top but were struggling to hit the target. The deadlock was broken when McKenzie Wilkinson scored and the lead was increased thanks to a goal by Oliver Loan. Just before half time the Lyons were awarded a free kick and McKenzie gave the keeper no chance with a great strike. The second half saw McKenzie go in goal. It didn’t take George McDonald long to get on the score sheet with a great finished followed by an excellent celebration. Jake O’Shaughnessy scored two late goals one a good strike from outside the box and the other when he was on hand to force the ball over the line in a goalmouth scramble.Final score was a 6-0 win to Chester-le-Street Lions Under 8’s.

This was a much better performance from everyone and as well as the goal scorers  Fionn Donnelly, James Oliver, Leon Rose and Gabrial Eccleston all enjoyed good games. Man of the match today was Gabrial Eccleston.
