NO JOY FOR U9 BLUES

Saturday 29th September was a disappointing day for Chester le Street Town U9 Blues, being the first loss of the season.  The game started fast with both teams going 100 miles an hour competing for the ball in every area of the pitch.  Chester took an early lead after Cohen Mickle dribbled into the box and after his shot was saved Joseph Chapman-Ward scored in his traditional Gary Lineker style.  For the rest of the half it was a tough battle with Taylor Welch saving a number of powerful shots.  Toby Collinson and Evan Dawson were having strong performances at the back while Cohen Mickel powered through midfield tackling anything that moved.  Louie Slevin-Bradley showed some magic touches on the ball but shots just missed wide, on another day he could have had a goal or two.  Noah Jackson tried his heart out on the right wing with no avail.  The 1st half finished 1 – 0 another half like that and we could get the win.  Unfortunately, the second half didn’t go to plan with the opposition equalising early on after a goal mouth scramble and an unlucky clearance rebounding from which they scored 1 – 1.  Then things got worse with with two more goals from the opposition, both long range shots that stalled in the wind and went in just under the bar, Taylor Welch was very unlucky.  A fourth goal came from a nice dribble and a powerful shot into the bottom corner.  The Blues did Play well but just couldn’t get a shot away.  Next week another tough game, Man of the Match Cohen Mickel for strong performance in midfield.
