Soulsby Smashes 4 as U9 Whites win in style

Chester le Street Town U9 Whites got back to winning ways after last weeks slip up with a comprehensive 7 – 0 win today.

The lads look up for it from the first whistle with Joshua Ruggles putting the whites 1 nil up after just a few minutes with a close range finish.

Joshua then turned provider – after beating his man, his inch perfect cross with finished off by Charlie Soulsby at the back post in clinical style.

Pushing forward more chances came and went for the whites, a mixture a good goalkeeping, dogged defending and some not to so perfect finishing saw several chances spurned by Ben Cummings, Joshua, Charlie and Alex White.

At the back the whites looked rock solid, Dan Burlison, Max Carr and Hayden Oakes defending very well and Jayden Kelly in vocal mood commanding his defence much to the appreciation of his coaches!

That solid defence allowed the lads up top to play with freedom and Charlie Soulsby once more capitalised with his second and third of the game to make it 4 nil at half time. Charlies hat-trick was his first for the club, the first of many hopefully!!

The second half saw the other team rally before Dan Watkin made it 5 – 0 – and it some fashion! He picked up the ball 40 yards from goal, turned, beating his man in the process, striding forward confidently he smashed it past the keeper from 25 yards! #unstoppable

That inspired the lads to push on and Joshua Ruggles capped off a fine display with a goal directly from a corner! Asked whether he meant it in his post-match interview a blushing Joshua confirmed he spotted the keeper off his line and went for it 😉

7 – nil soon followed, Hayden Oakes marauded down the right and whipped in a beautiful cross to the back post. Of course Charlie Soulsby was there, leaping like a salmon to power in the header for his fourth of day.

Great credit to Jayden Kelly in goal, despite it being a largely uneventful day for the keeper, with 2 minutes left he pulled off a stunning one hand save to his right, absolutely brilliant by Jayden keeping his concentration for that long and pulling off that save to record a clean sheet for his team.

That wrapped things up for the whites who celebrated in front of their fans (mams, dads and sisters!)

Charlie was unavailable for comment after the game as he gone straight into an impromptu meeting with his agent to renegotiate is goal scoring bonus!!!

Well done whites, 2 x proud coaches this week
