Chester le Street Town U12’s suffered a surprising defeat in South Shields this morning, going down 4-2 to bottom club South Tyneside. Chester le Street looked comfortable in the first half and deservedly took the lead with a excellent dipping shot from Dylan Bruce from distance. However a mistake in the defence let South Tyneside in to equalise against the run of play.

Into the second half Chester re took the lead thanks to a close range finish from Billy Hamilton. The lads were now expected to kick on and finish off South Tyneside, but to their credit the home team upped their game and began to cause our lads problems.

With Chester beginning to lose focus and tire, South Tyneside took advantage, they deservedly equalised, then went on to add a couple more goals. The lads kept going trying to force their way back into the game, but South Tyneside held out, to collect the points.

Man of the Match: Dylan Bruce, worked hard, and on the scoresheet with a lovely goal.
