U10 Whites start with a win

Chester le Street Town Under 10 whites had their first game following last seasons promotion and the leagues new boys put in a stellar performance on a cold, wet and muddy pitch.

Playing some really nice passing football the Whites carved out several half chances before Charlie smashed the ball home following a goal mouth scramble. At half time Josh ‘Wrighy’ Wright claimed the assist confirming the ball had “smacked him in the nuts” before landing kindly for Charlie. Despite the obvious pain he seemed rather chuffed with the setup, as did Charlie with the goal 😀

The lads went in at half time 1 – 0 up following some resolute defending from Alex White and a superb save from Jayden Kelly who tipped the ball over from point blank range!

The second half saw much of the same, good shape, good possession and passing and the lads made that count when Ben Cummings latched onto a throw in and stroked it home from 5 yards with his left peg.

2 – 0 soon became 3 – 0 Logan Newton smashing the ball home from 10 yards following really another smart move.

The lads really deserved to take home a clean sheet for their performance but a cross from wide some how snuck it the back post to make it 3 – 1. That gave the opposition some hope but the whites stood firm. Dan Burlison was solid all game, while Joshua Ruggles gave tireless end-to-end performance that was worthy of praise both offensively and defensively.

The coaches were super proud today, everything we ask for and more! Well done lads let’s keep this standard every week!!
