U11 Whites record biggest win of their season so far

After a narrow 3-1 home defeat last week U11 Whites bounced back with a stellar performance away to Washington Eagles.

Straight from the off you could tell the lads were up for it today as they threatened the opposition goal early on, with Sam unlucky not to put Chester one up, he soon made up for his miss after an excellent through ball from Harrison sent Matt on a good run and he crossed an excellent ball for Sam to tuck away. Sam then grabbed a second minutes later after latching onto a good through ball from Harry. The third came when Sam turned provider for Matt who smashed it home to make it 3. That’s the way it stayed until half time, with Callum making it a couple of good saves to keep the Eagles out.

The Whites came out the traps fast in the second half and were soon 4 – 0 up with some more good interplay again between Sam and Matt, with Matt scoring his second. The Eagles scored one against the run of play as despite a couple of good saves and attempted clearances.

Chester rallied again and Sam completed his hat trick to make it 5-1. Not to be out done Matt got his third a few minutes later.

It was good to see Aiden come off the bench back from injury and he was unlucky not to be on the score sheet almost instantly but for a good save from the Eagles keeper.

The seventh and final goal came direct from a corner, Matt had been whipping some excellent corners all game and this one bypassed everyone to cross the line at the back post.

It was an all round excellent team performance with everyone playing their part working hard for each other. The defence were solid and Callum deserved a clean sheet, the midfield lads all put a good shift in and played some good balls through and on another day Robin, Harrison and Jay could have all been on the scoresheet. It was great to see all the lads playing with such confidence.

With Sam scoring a hat trick and Matt scoring four and both setting each other up for goals it was a very tough decision for who won Man of the Match, but Sam took the honour today, but the pair had a great partnership up top playing some great one-twos creating lots of chances for each other and their team mates.
