U12’s slip to a narrow defeat

Chester-le-Street Town U12 lads slipped to a narrow defeat this morning. An even first half, with limited chances for both teams was heading towards a goal less first half. However Washington were able to get themselves in front, which in turn was quickly cancelled out by Billy Hamilton who was able to find the corner of the Washington goal from a narrow angle.

A disappointing second half for Chester Town saw the lads struggle to take control, in a game which was there for the taking. Washington were able to take advantage and added a couple second half goals to take a 3-1 lead. The Chester lads did have a chance to reduce the deficit after winning themselves a penalty after a shirt pull in the area. Unfortunely Bailey Capes put his well struck spot kick just wide.

On the plus side, Chester Town keeper Jacob Mills continues to improve and grow in confidence and he was on hand to keep his Chester team in the game with some decent saves and good clearing punches. He was deservedly named Man of the Match. Final score: Chester le Street Town 1-3 Washington Juniors.
