U7 Blues in winter battle

Chester Under 7s Blues started playing In freezing conditions on Saturday morning and a very competitive game ensued,
Lots of running from Kai Duffy and Harry Holmes gave us early chances, but we succumbed again to the early goal against us after some great Keeper work from Freddie Barron.

We battled, looking for the equaliser with Adam Abdullah linking well with Lincoln Borthwick, with fresh legs Ben Sharp made some strong tackling gaining us Several attacking chances but no goal unfortunately.

Jack Kelly again showed great awareness in position up front and almost slotted with a lovely shot from 10 yards out.. so close, but we kept believing.

2nd half Captain Jinkin Lincoln had a decisive impact after a good run from midfield a neat pass to Kai Duffy allowed an attack to blossom and Kai Duffy scored with  a composed finish.
1-1.. and game on!

James Sharp put in some effort and covered acres of grass breaking up attacks from the opposition,
Eventually though we were back down to 2-1 after a thumping shot left Freddie Barron no chance.

Chin up lads, and we set about getting even. Great effort and work rate soon had the result we were looking for, and with Jack Kelly hustling the midfield channels Ben Sharp broke free and smashed a 20yard worldie into the top corner
2-2, and we were now looking for the winner.

Late pressure from the opposition was absorbed well, Freddie Barron getting down well to several shots from distance. Good corner drills cleared the danger well but an unthinkable last kick of the game deflection cruelly denied us a well deserved draw, 3-2.

A huge display of both improvement and development was on show and the team’s commitment and effort gained respect from all who watched in testing conditions.

We’ll be back bigger, better and stronger.
