After a short Christmas break Chester-le-Street Town Under 8 Whites were back with enthusiasm and applied themselves well from the first whistle but found themselves 1-0 down from a well taken free-kick in a tightly matched game. The changing point came when Finley Benek harried the opposition into mistakes grabbing 1-2-3 quick goals. Joel Mewes-Reed provided a solid foundation in goal and was unbeaten from open play with Nick Twinn, Thomas Walton and Jacob Lisle giving him protection. James Carr came on and continued his passing form from the previous nights training and is showing his team mates how it’s done. Second half started with Jacob Lisle in goal and after a few important saves only one team was going to win. Constant running gave Finley 6 goals as he caused havok in front of their goal and goal of the game came from a brilliant cross field pass by James into Nick’s feet who took his time to power the ball from distance under the keeper giving him his second. Thomas Walton grabbed a goal for his hard work and biggest cheer of the day was reserved for James first ever goal on match day which proved very popular with team mates and parents. MotM James Carr but great performance by all involved in this 10-1.
