U9 BLUES GOOD RUN CONTINUES

Saturday 10th November Chester le Street Town Blues were the away team on Pitch 3.  We were after a second win to help cement the team in the 1st Division and give the boys the confidence to hopefully gain a second promotion.  The Blues performed brilliantly again for a second match with a good win.  Like the first match the opponents scored first after a quick break when we committed most of the team forward.  Taylor Welch after the early set back pulled of a number of good save especially a long rang looping shot that had picked up pace from the tail wind. The Blues had a few chances in the first half with Toby Collinson passing to Joshua Craig who laid the ball off to Cohen Mickel then the through ball to Joseph Chapman-Ward to missed on the right.  Evan Dawson and Toby Collinson in defence were again solid commanding the area and stopping every advance.  Next Joseph Chapman-Ward was fouled on the right and Louie Slevin-Bradley took the free kick making the keeper pull of a good save.  The opposition made a second good break in the first half and Cohen Mickel made a tremendous last ditch saving tackle, without the tackle it would have almost certainly been a goal.  1st half over 1 – 0 down, but the second half with the wind is when the Blues turn it on.  Straight away they broke with Noah Jackson passing to Joseph Chapman-Ward a one touch pass to Louie Slevin-bradley and a good save, but Noah Jackson followed in and the shot was blocked on the line.  The first goal came form a corner Louie Slevin-Bradley taking and Noah Jackson scoring 1 – 1.  Next corner Joseph Chapman-Ward curling one in right and Evan Dawson been in the right place 2 – 1, two goals from corners some would say we are becoming set piece specialists and you would be right as the third goal came from another corner Louie Slevin-Bradley taking and again Evan Dawson getting on the end to score. That was the end of the scoring and a win for the Blues and an unbeaten start to the season.  For a second week running it was too difficult to pick man of the match so it was given to the Team.
