The U9 Whites finished 2017 with a comfortable 4-0 win this morning.
Playing on a difficult pitch, due to the overnight conditions, Chester worked as a unit from the off and looked solid throughout.
After several great saves from the opposition GK, Chester broke the deadlock after a Harry Gibson corner was met on the volley by Kris Clark and fired the ball into the top corner.
Chester kept on pushing for a second before the break, but due to some more great saves by their GK, went into HT with a 1-0 lead.
The 2nd half started the way the 1st ended with Chester creating chance after chance.
Finally, after some good build up, Charlie High received the ball on the edge of box, faked to shoot and turned back inside onto his wrong foot and placed the ball calmly into the bottom corner.
Shortly after, Brooklyn Fearon ran down the left and shot across the GK with the ball ending up in the bottom corner.
Another fine run and effort from Brooklyn ended up with the GK making a fine save. Fortunately for Chester, the ball fell to Grayson Abbott who slotted the ball home for Chester’s 4th.
This was another fine from the boys and any of them could have been MOM. However, and definitely well deserved, the opposition coach gave it to Brooklyn Fearon for his goal and his terrorising runs in the 2nd half.
Finally, all the players and coaching staff would like to say a big thanks to all the parents and wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and everyone associated with the club!
