Under 10 whites get a great result in their first game back

It has been a difficult few weeks for the Chester Town U10 whites due to long term injuries to two of the players.

The boys knew that the match was not going to be easy, as there were only 7 of them so no substitutes! The usual goalkeeper was also unavailable. However this did not stop the whole team putting on a brilliant display during today’s game.

James O took his place in goal for the first half and was replaced by Joel in the second half. Both boys did an amazing job saving a number of shots on target, despite this position not being their strongest or preferred!!

The game started well with an early shot on target from Chester Town being saved by the opposition. Initially, teams looked evenly matched, but soon Chester Town began to dominate. An opening goal from Nick was quickly followed by a second from Olly and then a third from Thomas. None of these goals would have been possible without the amazing teamwork and passing from all of the boys. A powerful shot on target saw the opposition pull one back, but this made Chester Town more determined. We dominated with a number of shots either going wide of the goal or being saved. All of the boys tried really hard to hit the back of the net, and also worked selflessly to ensure that the ball was passed to the players in the best position to score. A fourth goal from Nick gave Chester Town a three goal cushion once again, but unfortunately the cushion was quickly reduced due to a goal from the opposition. The boys were tiring but kept their concentration which ultimately led to two more goals, one from Olly and one from Thomas. A brilliant win for the boys. The game was full of team work and even though Nick, Olly and Thomas were credited with the goals, Benjamin, Finley, James O and Joel did amazing, setting up and assisting the goals. (There could have quite easily been at least another 6 goals but unfortunately the shots were saved). In addition to the brilliant goalkeeping, the defence also stopped a number of shots from the opposition which took the pressure off the goal keepers during key moments of the match.

A huge well done to the boys, who are missing Ashton and James C, who are out with injuries and also missed Will today.
